The SWIPER small unmanned aircraft system (SUAS) is a low
cost and lightweight rugged system. It is designed to be very
affordable or disposable and to offer good aerial surveillance
capabilities through its pan&tilt cameras making it one of the
most cost effective small UAS on the market. The SWIPER can
be flown manually, semi-manually or automatically depending
on the airplane version and price. As an option, it has payload
stabilization and targeting information, which makes it a perfect
tool for ISR, training, “surrogate tactical uav”, damage
assessment, catastrophe relief and situational awareness. Easy
to use and maintain it can be operated from any location
(urban, unprepared,...) at any time by only one operator. Using
L-band transmitter, it is “ROVER” compatible. The SWIPER can
be upgraded with Procerus Technologies "OnPoint targeting" ,
that offers video stabilization, camera guided mode, video
tracking. As an additional option, it gives the capability to land
or hit a fixed or moving target without using GPS information.
Swipers are used in Afghanistan and Iraq to provide base
protection and convoy security. Several dozens of systems are
currently in use with US and coalition forces.
